Channeling his diverse inner creativity, Dr. Dre has on Monday, February 25 announced his partnership with beverage distribution company Drinks Americas Holdings, Ltd to develop and market his own line of premium alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. As part of their agreement, Dre will help the beverage giant identifying, developing, and marketing premium non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages.

The venture, marks the first time an iconic artist has partnered directly with a beverage company in an equity arrangement to jointly develop and market products, will see Dre's drink products joining the ranks of other Drinks America's partners including Donald Trump's Trump Super Premium Vodka, Willie Nelson's Old Whiskey River Bourbon and Paul Newman's Lightly Sparkling Fruit Juice Drinks and Flavored Waters.

The first two premium beverages to be released via Dre's partnership with Drinks Americas will be a super premium cognac selection and a unique new-to-market sparkling vodka. In addition, Dre also plans to enter the imported premium tequila business in the future.

"I'm always down for a new challenge," Dre who's a record producer, rapper, actor and record executive said in a statement. "When Drinks Americas approached me about going into business with them, I knew there was a lot of competition out there but it was the same way when I started doing music. I'm going to put the best product out there, because that's what I do."

Dr. Dre, meanwhile, is still preparing his highly anticipated album, "Detox," which is planned to be released sometime in mid 2008.
