Landing a supporting role in "Speed Racer" apparently isn't good enough for South Korean singing sensation Rain. In his effort to make international breakthrough, the 25-year-old entertainer is reportedly taking a huge leap to star as the leading role in the Warner Bros. Pictures' latest project "Ninja Assassin".

According to Variety, the fact that the singer who is listed in People Magazine's 2007 Most Beautiful People has landed the lead role was announced at a press conference in Seoul on Wednesday, February 13. At the conference, it was also let out that the film will most likely be directed by James McTeigue, the director of "V for Vendetta".

The singer whose real name was claimed to be Jung Ji-hoon nabbed his first feature film's leading role in Park Chan-wook's "I'm a Cyborg, but That's OK". The drama romantic comedy was listed as one of the 2007 Berlin Film Festival Competition entries. In Hollywood, he is joining the cast of the upcoming action adventure "Racer" as Taejo Togokhan starring alongside Hollywood actors Emile Hirsch, Matthew Fox and Christina Ricci.
