Nashville's rock group Be Your Own Pet will release their sophomore set titled "Get Awkward" on March 17 which receives Steve McDonald's production. But before releasing the album, the four-piece will head to a number of North American dates with The Raveonettes.

The first single from the new album has been determined to be "The Kelly Affair". However, they have also moved on with another track called "Food Fight" and are ready to showcase several others that can either "make your heart feel a little soft" or "make you want to break something".

Speaking on the new set guitarist Jonas Stein admitted that he was "nervous". He said, "Before we recorded our first album, we'd had those songs for God knows how long, before we'd gotten attention from anyone but ourselves. After all that, it was like, 'Okay, time to write a new record. starting from scratch.' It was the first time we'd ever done anything like that."

Most of the scores are true to their garage rock nature, fast and loud. "Try a slow song? No way. That's not what we do!" said vocalist Jemina Pearl Abegg. "You realize, doing other things doesn't make you less true to yourself. So this time, we were trying to mix it up, have more variety, rather than just attack-attack-attack, the whole way through."
