Though the joining of Liev Schreiber to the cast of "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" has been confirmed, it wasn't known what he is going to play. However, according to CHUD, the "Love in the Time of Cholera" star is going to depict Victor Creed who is known as Sabretooth.

Earlier, it was reported that the Tony award-winning actor who is dating Naomi Watts is set to star as Young Stryker, while the character of Sabretooth is rumored to be played by "300" leading man, Gerard Butler. But, the latter rumor has been dismissed by the "P.S., I Love You" star himself last month saying, "It's not true. I haven't even met on it, I haven't spoken to anybody and I haven't seen a script. And I think I'm working when it's going on, so it's not..."

"Wolverine" starring Hugh Jackman recounts the story of Wolverine's past, his complex relationship with Creed and the ominous Weapon X program. The action sci-fi project is being directed by Gavin Hood and scheduled to be released on May 11, 2008. Shooting that is said to last until June will begin sometime this month at Fox Studios in Sydney, Australia, before moving to New Zealand and New Orleans.
