Ready to generate thrills on the big screen among her fans, Mischa Barton has given her agreement to highlight an indie stalker thriller entitled "Homecoming", Variety had revealed.

Instead of playing a good, normal girl, the actress will portray the high school sweetheart of a former small-town golden boy who has developed an unhealthy obsession with him.

Joining Barton in the cast are Matt Long, Jessica Stroup, and Michael Landes, all coming under the direction of Morgan J. Freeman, one of "Dawson's Creek" helmers. Early draft of the script initially was penned by Katie Fetting and Jake Goldberger before Frank Hannah was hired to take the writing duties.

Meanwhile, Jim Young and Bill Papariella of Animus Films will produce alongside Bingo Gubelmann and Austin Stark of Paper Street Films. Nuala Barton, Benji Kohn, Chris Papavasiliou, and Richard Bard, in the meantime, will all serve as the film's executive producers.
