Assumed to be single since the breakdown of his six-year marriage to actress Uma Thurman in 2004, Ethan Hawke is reported to have been secretly dating his children's former nanny.
The movie hunk, famous for portraying the role of Jake in "Training Day" (2001), is said to have been dating the woman, simply identified as Ryan, for two years by now. On their romance Ethan's friend was quoted by New York Daily News as saying, "Yes, they've been keeping a lid on this for some time."
However, it has been claimed that Ethan didn't leave Uma for the nanny. His romance with Ryan started after he and Uma divorced. New York Daily News was told by an unnamed source that the nanny respectfully waited about a year after her former employer's marriage ended before she confessed her feelings.
"She had nothing to do with the divorce, and they started seeing each other after she was no longer the children's nanny," a friend of the nanny's told the newspaper.
Ethan and Uma walked down the aisle on May 1, 1998. The couple had two children, daughter Maya Ray and son Levon Roan. They separated and divorced in July 2004.
