Kabbalah Devotee Madonna Banned Family from Celebrating Christmas

Madonna, a devout follower of Jewish faith Kabbalah, has banned her children from celebrating Christmas.

AceShowbiz - While everyone is enjoying the spirit of Christmas, that's not the case for Madonna and her family. The pop superstar who aside from her high-rising singing career is famous as the devoted follower of Kabbalah faith, has banned her children from celebrating the annual Christian holiday.

Madonna's husband Guy Ritchie told People during the London's premiere of "Fred Claus" at Leicester Square Monday night November 19th the family has since few years ago omitted Christmas celebration. "We canceled Christmas a few years ago," so the movie director told People. "Stopped all the presents. And ever since [we] stopped the presents, we're are actually enjoying it."

Being asked how would he, Madonna, and their children; Lourdes Maria Ciccone Leon, Rocco John Richie, and David Banda, spend this year's celebration, Ritchie said "We are not sure what we are doing. Probably staying in London."

Madonna has become a devotee of the Kabbalah Centre since the late 1999s. She and hubby Ritchie attend Kabbalah classes and have been reported to have adopted a number of aspects of the movement associated with Judaism. The news media has reported that she has taken on the Biblical name of Esther and has donated millions of dollars to Kabbalah Centres in London, New York, and Los Angeles.

Still on her becoming Kabbalah devotee, Madonna no longer performs on Friday nights due to the fact that it's the time when the Jewish Shabbat begins. She wears a red string and has visited Israel with members of the Kabbalah Centre to celebrate some of the Jewish holidays.
