With New Year is just around the corner and Lindsay Lohan just has nothing to do on her have-to-do list, words are mounting on the street that the singer-actress is set to star in the hit TV show "Ugly Betty."

She's said to be in talks with producers to play a fallen beauty queen who ends up working as an assistant manager of a fast food restaurant. Her character will be rescued by the show's main character Betty Suarez, who tries to get her a job at Mode magazine, where she is an editorial assistant.

"Betty tries to help Lindsay's character by getting her a job at Mode, the fashion magazine where she works on the show," an unnamed source was quoted as saying.

Should a deal is reached by both parties, the producers and the actress, Lindsay will be the next after the likes of Victoria Adams and Lucy Liu to guest star on the ABC's comedy drama.

Lindsay who's been a rehab free after completed her treatment at the exclusive Cirque Lodge drug and alcohol treatment center in Sundance, Utah early last month has been remained low profile recently, keeping herself away from night clubs and party scenes that become a regular for fellow celebs. She, on the other hand, prefers to spend times with new boyfriend snowboarder Riley Giles.

She was previously reported to be hosting the highly anticipated New Year's Eve bash at Las Vegas hot spot LAX, but wasn't really happy with that scheduled gig and was said to be willing to do it merely because "she's contractually obligated." However, the report was later on slammed by a rep for the venue who made it official that LiLo won't be hosting LAX for New Year and instead confirmed that Paris Hilton and Nicky Hilton will be in hand.
