Beyonce Knowles, Carrie Underwood to Sing Classic Soundtracks at Movie Rocks

Beyonce Knowles, Carrie Underwood, Elton John and many more will take their rendition of classic movie soundtracks to Movies Rock concert.

AceShowbiz - A number of singers have signed up to celebrate the harmonious clash between music and movies. Beyonce Knowles, Mary J. Blige, Carrie Underwood, Elton John and Stacy Ferguson aka. Fergie will sing soundtracks to classic films at Movies Rock.

The event that is wrapped in a concert held at Los Angeles' Kodak Theater on December 2 will showcase the stars singing notable songs from movies such as 'Wizard of Oz', 'Casablanca', James Bond's 'Live and Let Die' and many more.

"We wanted to create an extraordinary show that would pay tribute to the indelible impact music has on film," Conde Nast Media Group President Richard Beckman told Asscoiated Press on Wednesday (October 23). Proceeds from this concert will go to Entertainment Industry Foundation.

CBS will air the taped event on December 7 in a two-hour TV special. In addition there will be a medley of songs composed by songwriter and pianist John Williams who have penned tracks from movies such as 'E.T.', 'Schindler's List' and 'Harry Potter' series.

  • 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow' from 'The Wizard of Oz' - Beyonce Knowles
  • 'The Sound of Music' from movie of the same title - Carrie Underwood
  • 'Goldfinger' from James Bond movie of the same title - Jennifer Hudson
  • 'Live and Let Die' from James Bond movie of the same title - Fergie
  • 'As Time Goes By' from 'Casablanca' - John Legend and Mary J. Blige (duet)
  • Music from animated films - Elton John
