Britney Spears' 'Gimme More' Picking Up Quickly on iTunes Chart
Music

Within hours and without promotion or video Britney Spears' comeback single 'Gimme More' is placed second on iTunes U.S. chart.

AceShowbiz -

Britney Spears' 'Gimme More' has been released on iTunes on Tuesday, September 25 and is picking up its U.S. iTunes chart victory very quickly. It jumped from #97 up to #16 within hours and immediately soars to #2 as in yesterday (September 27), only seconded by Soulja Boy's 'Crank That'.

The song also earns the same position in France and New Zealand but has even better luck in both Canada and Australia by sitting at the first rank. It is also climbing at a rapid rate in U.S. Singles chart where its position will be determined next week.

It is rumored that the music video for the song will be released within the coming weeks on MTV's TRL. The plot of the video is allegedly opened with a funeral that Britney attended. Upon leaving, she is chased by a guy who met several 'fake' Britneys, including a stripper version, along the way.

The video was directed by Jake Nava, the same person who penned Beyonce Knowles and Shakira's duet 'Beautiful Liar' and took place at a warehouse in downtown Los Angeles on July 19 and August 7.

Britney's not-yet-titled album will be released on November 13 via Jive.

Update (10/05/2007): the video is NOT directed by Jake Nava but a newcomer named Jake Sarfaty who is confirmed to be handpicked by Britney herself.
