Rapper Eve has stayed in the bright side with a new project also weighing the name Queen Latifah. The two will star in the first episode of a new reality show about music titled "Bridging the Gap".

Eve and Latifah are the first two artists to be paired by the VH1 program. The half an hour show will see the pair discussing music and recording a song together with the help from Eve's manager Troy Carter and producer Charles Alston. The song is yet untitled and the show is still on hold of if its premiere date.

Eve who is in preparation of her fourth solo album "Here I Am" said that Latifah has brought a big influence on her to 'sing'. "Recently, she pulled me to the side and she said, 'you better start singing now. Don't be scared of who you are,'" Eve revealed. "So on this album, I'm singing a whole song. My record label has been trying to get me to sing, but I wasn't really into it. I ended up doing it and it turned out to be my favorite song on the album."

"Here I Am", which is featuring guest Robin Thicke and Mary J. Blige, is due August 7 via Geffen.
