Ethan Hawke-directed movie "The Hottest State" received the helping hand of one of its cast in the production of its soundtrack album.

Grammy winning songwriter Jesse Harris has compiled a list of soundtracks that will be performed by artists like Norah Jones, Cat Power, Bright Eyes, Black Keys, Emmylou Harris and Willie Nelson.
The record that earmarks all of the music in support of Ethan Hawke-directed movie "The Hottest State" will arrive August 7 via Hickory Records.
"From our first conversation, I was overwhelmed by the quality of Jesse's songwriting and how perfectly matched it was to my aspirations for the tone and mood of the film," said Hawke. Harris who is also an actor in the drama flick performs three songs in the album.
"The Hottest State" will hit U.S. theatres on August 24.
