"The Queen" director Stephen Frears is reportedly in early talks with Screen Gems to helm "The Burial", an adaptation of a lengthy New Yorker profile by Jonathan Harr.

AceShowbiz - Shining bright from the accolades he received for his directorial work in "The Queen", British filmmaker Stephen Frears is currently being involved in early talks to direct "The Burial" for Screen Gems, which obtained the rights out of turnaround from Warner Bros. Pictures.

Already got Doug Wright penned the script, the picture is actually based on a lengthy New Yorker profile penned by "Civil Action" author Jonathan Harr about Willie Gary, one of eleven children in a family of migrant workers, who made his way to become a multimillionaire attorney.

The film's story, in the meantime, will focus on a $500 million settlement Gary won for the owner of a small chain of funeral homes in Mississippi who sued a Canada-based conglomerate that dominates the industry.
