From over 8,000 contestants, the search for seventh doll is coming near to an end as 9 girls are selected.

In search for seventh doll for troupe The Pussycat Dolls, reality show "Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll" which was aired in The CW last March 6 has reduced the number of contestants from 8,000 to mere 9.
These 9 girls have gone through some paces in the auditioning process, including the cut from 18 to 9. Fulfilling the criteria of 'has talent, drive, passion, be a good singer, a hot dancer and be sexy', 9 names have stood among the crowd. They are Anastacia, Chelsea, Melissa R., Asia, Jaime, Melissa S., Brittany, Mariela, and Sisely.
One of the finalists, Melissa S. has shown the drive and passion, "I think as a group we just really want to do well. And I will stay up to the crack of dawn rehearsing." However, the search for the ultimate doll to join the troupe is still going on. In the end, the selected one will sing in the band's next album and be on the tour with the group.
The Pussycat Dolls has released its first album "PCD" in 2005 and sold over 7 million copies worldwide. The group has been nominated in the 2007 Grammy Awards for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal, owns a makeup and clothing line and a name coined for a casino in Las Vegas.
