Sign of Tobey Maguire's intention to give up his Spider-Man role is getting more apparent as he spoke out his mind about the future of the web-swinging superhero during a recent promotion on "The Good German" in Australia.

The Sunday Mail reported that the actor seemed to confirm the buzz that he is not likely to continue playing Spidey as he feels that he has 'reached the end of the road' with the character despite Sony Pictures' decision to make the fourth installment of the franchise.

"To me it seems like this is a natural point for the team to break up," so he remarked. "We have a lot of story conclusions that were going along for the main characters for the first two movies and we kind of tie almost everything up for the third movie."

"It feels like a trilogy to me and it feels like the end, " he added.

Maguire was announced as the one to play the famed superhero in July 2000 after Sony finally concluded to pick him up among several choices like Leonardo DiCaprio, Freddie Prinze Jr., Scott Speedman, Jay Rodan, and James Franco. The latest of the series, "Spider-Man 3", is scheduled to open this year on May 4 alongside Curtis Hanson's drama feature "Lucky You."
