Once again set to exhibit his dramatic acting skills on screen, Anthony Hopkins has signed on to take a starring role in "The City of Your Final Destination", a film adaptation of Peter Cameron's acclaimed novel of the same title, Production Weekly has learned.

Here Hopkins is attached to portray the brother of a deceased Latin American author visited by an Iranian-born graduate student who seeks permission to write the authorized biography of the author. Rounding out the cast are Omar Metwally as the student, Hiro Sanada as the lover of Hopkins' character, Laura Linney as the author's widow, and Charlotte Gainsbourg as his mistress.

Scheduled to begin filming in the States and Argentina later this month, the project marks the reunion between Hopkins and Berkeley-born filmmaker James Ivory after their last collaboration in "Surviving Picasso" a decade ago. Ivory himself will direct the picture from script penned by his longtime screenwriting collaborator Ruth Prawer Jhabvala.
