Eric Clapton has been forced to postpone his concert, scheduled for Saturday night September 23rd at The Palace of Auburn Hills, because of sore throat. On his condition it is said that "He is indeed under the weather with a sore throat".

While a rescheduled date for the show in suburban Detroit will be announced next week, no additional shows on Clapton's North American tour, which kicked off last weekend, are affected. At least that's what tour publicist Kristen Foster said Saturday.

As of Clapton, the three-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee has next been scheduled to perform a concert Sunday in Toronto. The 22-date tour of the U.S. and Canada includes stops in 20 cities, including two concerts Sept. 28-29 at Madison Square Garden in New York among others.

In other Clapton's news, the man will have his new album, "The Road to Escondido," due out in November with fellow guitarist J.J. Cale.
