Marking her foray into mainstream film industry, supermodel Gemma Ward has signed on to take a starring role in Rogue Pictures' thriller project of "Strangers."

With this inclusion, Ward thereby is the next name to join the movie after "Jersey Girl" star Liv Tyler. The beauty will play one of the masked strangers who terrorize a couple living in a remote suburban house while Tyler has been billed as the female half of the couple.

Written and directed by fist-time helmer Bryan Bertino, pic is scheduled to begin filming this fall with an eye for an October 26, 2007 release. Nathan Kahane, Roy Lee, and Doug Davison are producing.

Hailed from Australia, Ward began her career as a model in 2002 after being discovered in Australian TV show of "Search for a Supermodel." The youngest model to grace the cover of American Vogue, she has been in campaigns from Prada to Yves Saint-Laurent as well as in shows for designers such as Versace, Gucci, Chanel, and Valentino.
