U.K. sensational couple, David Beckham and wife Victoria Adams, has reportedly reached an out of court settlement regarding their libel case against News of the World, a British tabloid that claimed the couple's marriage was a sham. Just for everybody to know, the husband-and-wife have previously seeking libel damages against the newspaper over an article within that carried the headline: "Posh and Becks on the Rocks."
"The defamation proceedings brought by David and Victoria Beckham against the News of the World have been resolved on a confidential basis," the couple's spokeswoman, Jo Milloy, said in a statement Thursday. And so, the superstar duo received undisclosed damages from the tabloid over the September 2004 article which claimed the spouses were pretending to be happily married for the purpose of financial gain.
And as the two sides have reached such settlement, the case is expected to be heard before a judge and jury at London's High Court after the soccer World Cup, taking place in Germany in June later this year.
