December 21 is a big day for Elton John as that day marks the legalization of civil partnerships between gay couples in England. The British singer even will double his happiness as at the same day he's going to marry his long time partner David Furnish.

Though, the star has, during an interview with Attitude magazine, said that there won't be a lavish party to celebrate the happy day. Instead, the wedding will be a small, private affair involving only himself and Furnish and their parents acting as witnesses.

"It'll be a very small family affair and then in the evening there'll be a soiree somewhere, which we have yet to work out," John was quoted as saying. "But the ceremony itself will be David's parents and my parents and the two of us. They'll be our witnesses. That's the way we want to do it. They've been so fantastic to us and so supportive. Out of respect for their support, we want to just keep it small. Not to make a ballyhoo of the ceremony," he added.
