Emerging from the Sussex music scene with a polished, retro-inspired pop sound, The Feeling carved out a distinctive space in the mid-2000s British music landscape. The band, consisting of Dan Gillespie Sells on vocals and guitar, Richard Jones on bass, Kevin Jeremiah on guitar, Ciaran Jeremiah on keyboards, and Paul Stewart on drums, took its name from a neon sign on a Parisian bar called "Le Feeling," spotted by bassist Richard Jones. Beyond their own recordings, frontman Dan Gillespie Sells found significant success as the composer for the hit West End musical Everybody's Talking About Jamie, a role that earned him an Ivor Novello Award and further showcased the melodic strengths at the core of The Feeling's music.
