The throats of three Peace Ambassadors have been slit. Their bodies were hung upside down with masks left covering their faces. Erica is panicked. The victims were discovered outside of the center where Tyler works. Thankfully, he's not among the slain. Kendrick says the Fifth Column has claimed credit for the killings.

With Malik still missing, Erica is assigned a new partner—Chris Bolling These two were very close back in the academy, but there's no time for reminiscing. Bolling wants to hit the ground running by checking out a certain outspoken priest. Speaking of Father Jack, he sets himself up as bait to meet Eli Cohn, who actually makes contact with him. Tyler is also looking for Jack to avenge his fallen Peace Ambassador pals, so he and a few others trash the church.

Ryan gives Jack a magnesium compound that'll serve as a tracking beacon as he's taken to meet Cohn. FLASH, BANG! Erica, Ryan and Hobbes storm Cohn's secret cabin in upstate New York. During an intense standoff, Cohn says the V's did something to his wife many years ago when she was pregnant. They also did something to his son, who died a few months after being born.

Cohn says he will give up the two men responsible for killing the three Peace Ambassadors. Erica can use them as scapegoats in the Makik disappearance. The feds raid Cohn's cabin. They find the two extremist killers along with a bathtub of blood. Bolling finds Malik's badge nearby. There's no body, but it's obvious that she's dead.

On the mothership, Ryan hands over the skinned face that once hid Agent Malik's true identity. He wants Anna to give his daughter another shot of bliss. That's not going to happen until Ryan does a little more work. Anna wants him to infiltrate Eli Cohn's organization to become her eyes and ears until it's time to destroy them all.

Cardinal Januez Wolichek has been heading discussions at the Vatican regarding the Visitors. So Anna and Chad zip off to Italy. Their V shuttle touches down smack dab in the center of St. Peter's Square. Hey, it's not like there was a "no parking" sign. Anna asks the Cardinal to give an unconditional condemnation against all clergy who engage in anti-V rhetoric. She's also looking for ways to get a billion Catholics on her side.

Anna is disappointed that the College of Cardinals has decided to let priests continue to speak their mind. She says, "It would be tragic for centuries of faith to suddenly turn from you to me." She gives a Blue Energy demo that rattles everyone in the room, with the exception of Father Piers Moreau. Later, the Vatican says it will be welcoming Visitors as potential members of the church. Oh, and that anti-rhetoric thing is a go, too.

Anna recognizes the ring on the finger of Father Moreau. He's a sleeper V dispatched to Earth by the previous queen, Diana. His assignment was to study human emotion and its affect on the Visitors. The priest tells Chad that he should trust his gut feelings about the Visitors and secretly slides him that mysterious ring. Inside the ship, Anna wants answers about human emotions. But Moreau will only report to his queen.

Moreau tells Diana that the human soul is not a curse but a blessing. It's what sustained Diana for the 15 years she's been in captivity. Anna wants to use Moreau's knowledge to eradicate the soul. She'll never get the chance. Diana bears her fangs and promptly chows down on Father Moreau's neck, killing him instantly. Diana tells her daughter that she just gave a loyal servant the honorable death he deserved.

Jack finds Tyler's cell phone amongst the debris at his church. He shows Erica the video that was shot on it. She's understandably devastated when she learns her son is the lead vandal. She asks Jack for help. They are both going to need it because Bolling uncovers recent video footage of the two of them acting chummy. Apparently, Paul Kendrick has been suspicious of his top agent for some time. It's why he asked Bolling to secretly keep an eye on Erica when he assigned him as her new partner.
