Amy (America Ferrera) is offended when Glenn (Mark McKinney) asks her to hand out samples of Cloud 9's new salsa just because she's Latina. But Carmen (Grace Parra), another Latina, has no problem doing it and even dons a sombrero and thick accent to do so. Amy confronts Carmen for perpetuating a stereotype, but their disagreement leads Carmen to slip and injure her ankle. When Mateo (Nico Santos) takes over, Amy is even more outraged to see him employing the same stereotypical accent. To make her point, Amy adopts her own stereotypical Asian accent. Unfortunately, an Asian family sees her do it.

Jonah (Ben Feldman), meanwhile, tries to show Garrett (Colton Dunn) that helping people is never a bad idea and agrees to assist Tate (Josh Lawson), Cloud 9's pharmacist. But as Garrett predicted, Jonah's kindness gets him into trouble. When Jonah tries to help an elderly woman get a vaccine, the woman informs the other customers Jonah helped her because "white people help their own." This, plus Amy's incident, forces the staff to watch a training video on racism, after which Glenn still makes Amy man the salsa stand. But when Dina (Lauren Ash) informs Amy that salsa sales benefit an orphanage in Mexico, Amy gives in and accepts that a little racism can go a long way.
