As the Strike Team is reassigned pending an investigation into the theft of evidence, Mackey offers to forget he ever saw Julien having sex with con man Tomas Motyashik if the rookie cop will drop his complaint. So, even as David presses him not to recant, Julien decides to try and keep his homosexuality a secret by claiming he's no longer sure about what he saw. And as Aceveda learns that Jorge Machado is still backing his city council bid, Danny and Julien are called to keep a lover's triangle from exploding in violence. When the investigation into a burned body found and stuffed inside the trunk of a fleeing car turns up traces of methamphetamine, evidence links the drugs to the death of a college fraternity pledge. After Vic and Claudette arrive at the frat house to arrest him, drug dealer Effi Montecito claims that murder suspect Manny Sandoval is still holding ten pounds of the deadly drug as collateral. Wiring both Effi and the dead man's brother, Paul, Vic sends them to meet with Sandoval. But when Paul seeks revenge for his brother's death, Vic and Claudette are barely able save him from being killed, too. Meanwhile, When Dutch takes on a murder case that has been sitting idle for over a year, Shane suggests that he comfort the grieving widow, Kim Kelner. As Vic looks for the money to send his autistic son to an expensive private school, Dutch's investigation reveals that Kim Kelner's husband was killed by his crooked business partner. As Dutch finds that Kim is interested in him now that he's solved her husband's murder, Julien and David ask Fran to choose between the two men who are fighting over her. Finally, after Sandoval offers to help keep in the drugs off the street in exchange for his release, Vic tries to befriend Julien in return for his changing his testimony and putting the Strike Team back in action.
