As Captain Aceveda announces a citywide warrant sweep, prostitute Connie Reisler asks Vic to find the customer who tried to rape her. Turning Connie over to Dutch, Vic sees a chance to make some money after one of the raids inadvertently nabs pro basketball star Derrick Tripp. As Dutch's investigation into the attack on Connie suggests a serial killer is preying on hookers, Danny and Julien arrest twenty-two-year-old com man Tomas Motyashik. However, Julien panics after Tomas reveals that he has seen him outside a well-known gay bar. And as Dutch and Claudette stumble onto rape suspect William Greeley's collection of sperm samples, Vic orders his men to keep Tripp under wraps in order to influence the outcome of that night's game. While Tripp asks about being released, Shane and his partners hey refuse to let him go, but do allow his girlfriend to visit. With Connie in his office, Vic warns Dutch not to get carried away in the search for her attacker. And as it becomes clear that Greeley is raping women in order to procreate, Claudette asks Dutch to stop pressing the serial killer connection. Meanwhile, as Julien finds Tomas hard to resist, Vic continues to insist he knows nothing of Tripp's whereabouts, even as his men are betting on the upcoming game. When it becomes clear that Shane resents Tripp's multi-million dollar salary, Vic warns the disgruntled cop not to do anything that might jeopardize their scam - or expose their role in the murder of the undercover cop. As Julien helps Tomas to get out of jail, Claudette puts herself in jeopardy to get Greeley to confess to the rapes. Finally, as Danny asks Dutch to help her prepare for a sergeant's exam, Vic makes sure Tripp is released too late for the game. And as another murder suggests that Dutch's serial killer investigation has merit, Julien is seduced by Tomas.
