Charlie is put in a precarious position by Oppenheimer. -- When Oppenheimer's lover Tatlock distracts him from the project, Charlie reluctantly starts to take over his duties while others on the Hill see it as a power grab. Helen begins her work on the Uranium team and immediately competes with Theodore to be the liaison for the manufacturing site. Crosley gets the position. Oppenheimer officially decides to leave and put Charlie in charge, even as his wife gives birth. Abby sees Charlie wants Oppenheimer to stay and takes matters into Her own hands to get Tatlock to end their relationship. Her plan backfires and Tatlock kills herself. Liza gets Frank out of his jail cell. Despite her protests, he is relentless in his wish to return to the Hill, and in the end he gets his way.
