After a dangerous placental abruption, Rollins (Kelli Giddish) leaves the hospital with a healthy baby girl - Jesse.

When Benson (Mariska Hargitay) investigates a friend, Lisa, behaving oddly to their mutual nanny, Lucy, during a school pickup, things get perilous fast as Benson discovers Lisa's family has been taken hostage by Ralph, a former employee of Lisa's husband, and his cohorts. They believe he's got a large sum of cash in the house and want it by any means necessary. With Benson also taken prisoner and SVU thinking she's at a DNA conference, hope for help seems unlikely.

However, Benson convinces her captors that she needs to respond to incoming texts to not raise concern. When Noah's nanny sends Benson a text, she responds with a code for SVU, prompting Fin (Ice T) and Carisi (Peter Scanavino) to pay the townhouse a visit. Lisa's daughter's demeanor tips them off to the presence of the hostage takers, which initiates a large-scale hostage standoff and harrowing conclusion as Benson courageously takes action to save the lives of Lisa's family.
