When Hank learns that Thanksgiving dinner is taking place at the Funks, he convinces everyone that the Pryor home is the place to be on turkey day. Grady is skeptical because the family's army of caterers didn't move to Virginia with them. Hank is determined to prove Grady wrong. Time to Google turkey!

Henry tells his parents about his cat named Marie. Hank and Tilly try to convince their son that the kitty in question is a figment of his imagination; much like the leprechaun he believes is living in their car. Hank doesn't have time to deal with his son's delusions once Grady pops in with news that there will be one more guest joining them for Thanksgiving dinner. Her name: Mom.

Evelyn Funk (guest star Swoosie Kurtz) doesn't hate Hank, but she doesn't like him either. After all, he's the one who took her little girl away to New York. Evelyn also tends to make Tilly feel extremely self-conscious. This will have to be a perfect Thanksgiving to get her mother to ditch her condescending attitude. The quest for perfection hits a snag when the 38-pound turkey Hank bought is way frozen. So they plop Turkasaurus into the bathtub to thaw.

Evelyn keeps popping into the kitchen to check on things. This puts Tilly even more on edge. She wants to ask Grady and Dawn for help, but Hank won't hear of it. He does, however, confront Evelyn about her attitude. But Evelyn doesn't have a problem with Tilly. Her issue is with Hank. She's mad at him for turning her daughter into someone she doesn't even recognize. After all, who wears high heels while peeling yams?

Admittedly, Tilly is a very different person than she was when she left Virginia. Hank has no problem with the fact that he may have de-Funkified his wife. But Tilly desperately wants him to drop the Pryor versus Funk mentality. Yes, she's a Pryor now but she'll also always be a Funk. Hank and Tilly continue to argue until more pressing issues arise. They forgot about Turkasaurus, which is still soaking in the tub. To the bathroom!

When Hank and Tilly reach the tub, they see a cat sitting atop their turkey chowing down like there's no tomorrow. Guess Marie isn't a figment of Henry's imagination. Wonder if this means that leprechaun is real, too. This is more than Tilly can take. She flees the house to clear her head.

Hank swallows his pride and asks Grady and Dawn for help. He's so sincere in his request that Grady doesn't even have the heart to gloat. Tilly comes home to find the entire family pulling together in the kitchen. It warms her heart much in the same way Grady's new deep fryer warms that 38-pound turkey, just before an explosion launches the big bird skyward. Who says turkeys can't fly?

At the end of the day, the family enjoys a nice Thanksgiving as they feast on the half of the turkey they were able to recover. Even Evelyn is impressed. She says she's proud of her daughter. Tilly says that Hank deserves a lot of the credit, so she should be proud of him as well. To that, Evelyn says, "Yams are cold." Can't wait for Christmas!
