As the episode begins, Nick's headache has subsided but questions remain about what he saw. Juliette does not want to take any chances and enlists Wu to help her bring Nick to the hospital.

Trubel, meanwhile, is tied to a chair and being stared down by Agent Chavez, who woges to confirm Trubel is the Grimm. Chavez explains there is a group of people working together to remove bad Wesen from society and that they would love to have Trubel join them. But when Trubel remains unmoved, Chavez lets her go and warns her to keep quiet about their meeting.

In another part of Portland, boxing promoter Stan sends a trio of tough-looking guys to instigate a young boxer named Clay. The men pull out bats and begin beating Clay until he woges into a bull-like Wesen. Clay easily overcomes his attackers and heads to his match, his eyes glowing yellow. In the ring, he knocks out his opponent in seconds. But motivating Clay comes at a price for Stan, who finds himself being blackmailed by one of Clay's attackers, Bobby. If Stan doesn't pay out, Bobby will reveal his unconventional methods.

Upon his doctor's advice, Nick meets with an ophthalmologist to determine the cause of his headaches, which he and Juliette are beginning to suspect are another side effect of Adalind's spell. The ophthalmologist's tests reveal Nick was born with a heightened sense of vision that allows him to see things most people can't (because Grimm) but swelling in the area is inhibiting his ability to do so. Whether the swelling is temporary or permanent, the ophthalmologist can't say.

Still on the hunt for a cure for Nick, Monroe and Rosalee invite Hank over to arrange a meeting with the captain. But they are interrupted by Bud, who storms in concerned about Trubel. Hank assures Bud that Trubel is a friend while Rosalee spills the beans about Nick's lack of Grimm powers, swearing Bud to secrecy. When Bud leaves, he also leaves us with a bad feeling about this.

Instead of receiving a payday, Bobby winds up with a fatal injury and his body is dragged from the water the next day. At the crime scene, Wu informs Nick and Hank of Bobby's boxing past and provides a home address for them to check out. But before Nick can get away, Wu reminds him they still need to discuss Trubel. Keeping the truth from Wu is looking harder and harder.

At the hospital, the captain evades Elizabeth's questions about his daughter's location, but his mother discerns that Renard wouldn't trust the royals or the Resistance with Diana so she must be with someone else. Monroe and Rosalee's arrival prevents Elizabeth from prying further and Renard introduces them to his mother. They are no less stunned than Nick and Hank. Renard says he must show Monroe and Rosalee where Adalind mixed her potion but Elizabeth insists he rest and offers to go in his place. "To beat a hexenbiest like Adalind, you need a hexenbiest like me," she asserts.

After learning from Bobby's sister that Bobby had come home beaten-up from Kingston's boxing gym, Nick and Hank pay the place a visit and meet Clay, his trainer Abe and Stan, who plays it cool when being questioned. There's no denying something's up, however, when Nick and Hank spot Clay pounding dents into a dumpster at lightning speed. When Nick hypothesizes that perhaps everyone at the gym is Wesen, Hank says it's time to bring in Trubel.

Monroe, Rosalee and Elizabeth bring their search to Adalind's storage locker, where they stumble upon the cauldron where Adalind mixed her potion. Tasting a small, dried-up piece of it, Elizabeth briefly morphs into Juliette. She then instructs Monroe and Rosalee to search for a book that won't open.

Nick and Hank send Trubel undercover at Kingston's boxing gym, where she strikes up conversation with Clay by asking about his favorite fighter. Instead, Trubel learns Clay doesn't even like boxing and only does it to support himself and his mother. Stan catches them chatting, orders Clay to get ready and tells Trubel to get lost. When she says she's a fighter, Stan commands her to get in the ring with an imposing-looking opponent, Hurricane.

Nick and Hank walk in just in time to see Hurricane charge at Trubel and knock her down. When Nick tries to intervene, Hank holds him back so he doesn't blow Trubel's cover. Luckily, no rescuing is needed as Trubel bounces back and sends Hurricane falling to the floor. An impressed Stan sends Trubel to the showers while he talks to Nick and Hank, giving them a dinner date with Abe as his alibi for the night of Bobby's murder.

In the locker room, Trubel overhears Clay express his concern to Abe that he caused Bobby's death and his desire to quit fighting. Stan enters then and assures Abe and Clay that's not possible. When Clay leaves, Abe tells Stan he'll tell Clay the truth about who killed Bobby if Stan doesn't cancel Clay's next fight. Stan threatens Abe right back and both men woge.

In Vienna, Adalind finally comes face-to-face with the mysterious voice that's been taunting her after he leads her to a secret opening that connects their cells. His name is Hoffman and he promises he can show her a way out of the castle. Together, they make their way out into the darkness.

Back at Adalind's storage locker, Rosalee finds a book that won't open... until Elizabeth cuts her hand and drips blood onto the book's spine. It opens onto the recipe for Adalind's spell. To reverse it, Elizabeth says she need's a location that hasn't been tainted by another hexenbiest. To Monroe's chagrin, Rosalee recommends the Spice Shop.

Inside the trailer, Trubel, Hank and Nick identify Stan as a Schinderdiv, a Wesen who kills by inserting its tusks into its prey's chest, and Clay as a Heftigauroch, or bull-like Wesen that excels at fighting but has a non-violent nature. All roads point even more clearly to Stan after Abe is found murdered with a suicide note claiming responsibility for Bobby's death. More telling are the puncture wounds in his chest.

Nick and Hank arrive at Kingston's Boxing just in time to scare off a new set of guys Stan hired to provoke Clay. They accuse Stan of being a Schinderdiv but when Stan woges and sees neither is a Grimm, he calls their bluff. Too bad Trubel is right behind him. Stan charges at her and quickly overpowers Trubel. Hank and Nick prove no match for Stan either and Nick is nearly punctured before Trubel climbs onto Stan's back. She grabs one of his tusks and holds on tight, eventually snapping Stan's neck. Nick says he'll take responsibility for Stan's death and sends Trubel to tell Clay he no longer has to fight. Hank asks if Nick is okay and it's clear in his reply just how acutely Nick is feeling the loss of his Grimm abilities.

When Trubel catches up with Clay, he's being attacked by his own mother, also a Heftigauroch, who is intent on cashing in on her son's natural talents. After recognizing Trubel as a Grimm, Clay's mom orders her son to help her kill Trubel. Instead, Clay knocks his mother to the ground and almost attacks her before Nick and Hank run in. They calm Clay down, but not before he breaks his own arm, bringing an end to his boxing career.

At the Spice Shop, Elizabeth goes over the spell Adalind used and realizes it connects Adalind and Nick in unexplainable ways. As she, Monroe and Rosalee set about mixing another batch, two men pull up in a truck outside the Spice Shop and don metal masks. Is another threat on the horizon? We're hopeful next week's episode tell us otherwise.
