Chris (Tyler Williams) and Greg (Vincent Martella) are without dates to the ninth-grade dance, until Greg gets asked, leaving Chris as the odd man out. Ms. Morello (Jacqueline Mazarella) suggests to Chris that he ask the only girl who hasn't been asked yet, Carrie White, and she accepts.
Unfortunately, when word gets around that Carrie is going to the dance with the "black kid" in school, a huge controversy is created, putting Carrie and Chris in an awkward situation.
Meanwhile, Tonya (Imani Hakim) drives Rochelle (Tichina Arnold) and Julius (Terry Crews) crazy about taking ballet classes.
