At the Smith house, the family is dressed up and ready to go to a banquet in honor of Denzel Washington. At the banquet however, the family shows up in black face due to Stan's error in reading the invitation. On the car ride home, the family is not happy with Stan for making them look like racists.

Back at home, Roger and Klaus are making drinks to match the characters of "Grey's Anatomy". Roger messes up the drink by breaking the blender and tells Klaus he can't watch TV without a blended drink.

The next morning at the breakfast table, the family is still mad at Stan for his gaffe the night before. Roger comes in and tells Stan that he needs a new blender so Stan tries to fix it by putting in a sharpening stone. He breaks it and Roger calls him a boob and everyone but Stan laughs. Stan gets upset and says that he deserves respect and storms off.

At work, the director is conducting a nuclear war drill but Stan shows up late and doesn't know that it is a drill. He runs home and tells the family and evacuates them in his car. They leave Roger at the house. Upstairs, Klaus and Roger are looking at blenders online and realize that they can't afford it. Klaus suggests he create bridal registry and find a girl to marry him on "J-Date". He immediately finds a woman desperate enough to marry him.

In the forest, the family is scared because they don't know what to do. Stan tells them what they need to do and goes searching for firewood. While he is searching, Roger calls him and tells him that the nuclear scare was just a drill. Stan realizes his mistake and goes back to the family. They tell him that they have complete faith in him so he doesn't tell them that the nuclear bomb scare was just a drill. Stan is pacing outside the car and decides to keep the charade up and says he is going to find some food. He drives to a diner and has an omelet before looking for food for the family. Just as he is leaving a woman runs in and says she ran over a possum. Stan takes it back to the woods for the family.

Meanwhile, Roger is dating the woman he met on J-Date. The woman is really feeling him. He proposes to her and she calls her mom to tell her the good news.

Back in the woods, Stan comes back with the possum, but before they can eat, a bear comes running toward them. Stan tries to get them to stay still so the bear won't maul them. The bear charges until he stands up straight and dies. A mountain man steps out from the woods with a bow and arrow and was obviously who killed the bear but Stan keeps trying to say it was because his standing still plan killed it. The mountain man is named Buckle and he takes them to his house for a meal. At Buckle's house, the family is impressed by Buckle's command of English and his savvy at surviving in the wild. Stan wants to leave but Buckle says there will be mutants outside but Stan makes them leave anyway.

Roger goes over to his fiancée's house to meet her parents. The girl's fiancée's dad asks Roger if he wants a drink - he accepts. Later, they are discussing the wedding plans and Roger says he wants to get married on Sunday. The parents agree.

In the woods, Stan is trying to find the family some food but they are complaining about having to leave Buckle's house. Stan goes to a cabin in the woods that he realizes is a camp for the deaf. He steals their food but gets caught by the deaf kids and runs back to his family with the food. The Smith family thinks he is being chased by mutants so they run away. Once they get away, they realize Stan was lying to them. They get mad and go home but Stan has to sit in the back. Buckle stops the car and tells Hayley that he wanted to repopulate the earth with her. She is grossed out and tells Francine to gun it.

Roger is having trouble getting along with his fiancée when they go shopping. He sees the blender he wants and hugs it.

Back home, the family is mad at Stan and calls him a boob. A bold of lightning strikes and Stan sees Buckle outside. Stan yells that Buckle followed them but the family doesn't believe him. Roger tells them about his plans to get married.

The next day, the wedding is going on in the backyard when Roger realizes that the marriage is going to happen. He tries to tell Stan so he can get out of it. Suddenly, Buckle shows up and kidnaps Hayley, so Stan runs after them and catches them. Buckle admits that he is lonely so Stan thinks quickly and gets Roger's fiancée to marry Buckle.

Later, Steve is eating some hallucinogenic berries he got in the woods and is having a conversation with a daisy and bee.

Finally, Buckle and his new wife are in the mountain cabin having a typical married life together complete with arguing and dinner.
