2009 Summer Movies Preview
#14 My Sister's Keeper (June 26)
"My Sister's Keeper" is one of the movies you cannot miss this summer. While it won't make you roll down on the floor laughing or impress you with its explosive and hard-hitting action, it does present a heart touching story about how a 13-year-old girl fights her parents for medical emancipation. With a line-up that consists of Abigail Breslin, Cameron Diaz and Alec Baldwin, the movie tells the story of Anna who was conceived to be the bone marrow transplanter for her sister, Kate. For years the family relies on Anna to prolong Kate's life, but when Kate goes into renal failure, Anna on the other hand chooses to sue her parents, setting off a court case that threatens to tear the family apart. Got to prepare a lot of Kleenex for this one.
