When making an appearance on the late night comedy show, the '127 Hours' star tells host Stephen Colbert he wants to take the role of the show's art consultant.

AceShowbiz - Oscars co-host James Franco has asked funnyman Stephen Colbert for a job on his hit U.S. late night comedy show. The "127 Hours" star, who most recently announced plans to become a professor at New York University in 2012, has set his sights on a new gig - working for "The Colbert Report".
Franco, who is a big fan of the program, offered up his talents and nominated himself for an art consultant position during an appearance on the show on Tuesday, April 5. He says, "You rule. I want to work with you." The funnyman liked the idea and pronounced him hired.
Representatives for Comedy Central, which produces "The Colbert Report", have yet to comment on whether or not Franco will actually sign on and become an employee. The busy actor is currently a regular member of daytime soap "General Hospital" and he's also making a documentary about acting.
