AceShowbiz - Representatives for California's Medical Board have renewed their bid to ban Michael Jackson's former physician Conrad Murray from practicing medicine. In court earlier this year, Murray, who stands accused of administering the anesthetic Propofol which killed Jackson, was told he could no longer use or prescribe anesthetics to patients, but officials at the Medical Board of California argue that the judge didn't go far enough - and the doctor's license should be suspended, reports the Associated Press.

In a legal brief filed on Monday, June 7 the board bosses state, "It is not just (Murray's) 'prescribing' practices that are in question, but his fundamental judgment and skill as a physician. While the defendant asserts that he will not practice in California, there is no legal bar to him changing his mind and engaging in practice in this state."

Officials are requesting an order that Murray "cease and desist from the practice of medicine" until his criminal trial connected to Jackson's death is concluded. The singer's former physician pleaded not guilty to charges of involuntary manslaughter in February.
