AceShowbiz - Cardi B has firmly denied claims that she buys luxury bags for herself while pretending her estranged husband is the one gifting them, amidst his escalating financial and legal problems.
The Bronx-born rapper responded to social media speculation after a video surfaced showing her opening a Birkin bag and dancing, making it clear she is “never the type to do lame s### like that.” Cardi B further emphasized, “There was no money problems when I was regulating,” highlighting her own financial stability despite Offset’s difficulties.
Offset, the former Migos member and Cardi B’s ex-husband, has been struggling with serious financial troubles since their split in 2023. He currently faces more than $2.3 million in combined IRS and Georgia state tax liens. Although he managed to pay off $1.57 million of that debt in late 2025, his financial challenges continue to mount.
Adding to his woes, just days before being shot outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, on April 6, Offset was hit with a $100,000 lawsuit from MotorCity Casino Hotel in Detroit. The casino alleges he opened a credit line in March 2024 to gamble but failed to pay the debt when they attempted to withdraw funds from his bank account. His attorney states he is “working toward a resolution,” but this represents only one of many ongoing issues.
The shooting incident also involved the arrest of rapper Lil Tjay. Meanwhile, former NFL player Dez Bryant and radio personality Ebro Darden have publicly accused Offset of owing them thousands of dollars in unpaid bets. Although he has been discharged from the hospital and is reportedly recovering, his legal and financial problems are far from resolved.
In stark contrast, Cardi B has been steadily expanding her business empire. Her Whipshots vodka-infused whipped cream has sold over six million cans since its 2022 launch, and she has diversified into other ventures like Grown Good. By 2025, her estimated net worth reached $100 million, and her ongoing “Little Miss Drama” tour has generated over $33 million in revenue.
The couple shares three children from their 2017 marriage. Additionally, Cardi B recently had a son with NFL star Stefon Diggs. However, Offset is reportedly seeking a paternity test regarding the child, adding another layer of complexity to their ongoing personal matters.
