AceShowbiz - Filmmaker Adam McKay has revealed that his previously halted Netflix project, Average Height, Average Build, which stars Robert Downey Jr., Amy Adams, and Robert Pattinson, remains a possibility and has not been permanently shelved. The film is a dark comedy centered on a serial killer who transitions into a Washington lobbyist.
The project was initially put on hold in December 2023. However, McKay clarified in a recent interview that the delay was due to external factors such as industry strikes and the timing of political events. He emphasized the film is still “on the table” and only moved to the “back burner” for the time being.
"Average Height is still on the table, it kind of went to the back burner because we had the strike and then Trump got elected,” McKay stated. "So it kind of screwed with our timeframe of when we wanted to release it."
While Average Height, Average Build awaits its moment, McKay has shifted his focus to another project that addresses climate change. This new film is called 2C, referencing the two degrees Celsius global warming threshold.
The climate drama, which McKay describes as a blend of comedy and drama, is in active development. He previously tackled global catastrophe in his 2021 film Don't Look Up.
