AceShowbiz - Baby, You're a Star marks the feature film debut of Tyga, who takes on a leading role in this coming-of-age musical drama set in 1989. Not only does Tyga star in the film, but he also co-wrote and is producing the project alongside Curtis Bryant.

The story follows Tyga’s character, a young man striving to escape his surroundings while confronting themes of love, identity, and artistic ambition. This role represents a new chapter for the multi-platinum rapper as he expands from music videos into full-length feature filmmaking.

Currently filming in Portland, Oregon, the production features a strong supporting cast. Madison Bailey, known for her role in Outer Banks, and Ashton Sanders, from Moonlight, join Tyga in key roles. The ensemble also boasts talents such as Apollonia, Clifton Powell, Patrick Cage, David Alan Grier, and Mike Epps, assembling a notable lineup for this independent film venture.

Director Arrad Rahgoshay, who has worked with Tyga and Cardi B on music videos, is making his feature directorial debut with this film. Producers include Brian Sher and Eric Tomosunas, working in collaboration with Tyga.

Tyga rose to prominence in the early 2010s with hits like his 2011 single "Rack City," which peaked at number seven on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned multi-platinum status. This track was the lead single from his major-label debut album, Careless World: Rise of the Last King, which entered the Billboard 200 top five. Over the years, he has released several charting albums and mixtapes, including Hotel California and The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty, accumulating billions of streams and multiple multi-platinum certifications worldwide.

Before this project, Tyga’s film and television appearances were limited, with small roles in productions such as the Scream anthology series and cameos in blockbuster movies like Logan and Furious 7. His role in Baby, You're a Star marks his first major feature film effort.

Filming is expected to conclude in Portland within the next few months. While there is no official release date yet, anticipation is building for this unique blend of music and drama that highlights Tyga’s expanding artistic talents.
