Bareilles boasts impressive sales figures, with over 3 million albums and 15 million singles sold in the U.S. alone. Her music has also been streamed more than 3.5 billion times worldwide, reflecting her broad appeal and sustained popularity.

In addition to her recording success, Bareilles made significant contributions to musical theater. She composed the music and lyrics for the Broadway musical Waitress and starred in the lead role both on Broadway and in the West End. Her performance as "The Baker's Wife" in Into the Woods earned her a Tony Award nomination, highlighting her versatility as a performer.
