AceShowbiz - Chinese-American alt-pop singer-songwriter Emei has officially signed with Atlantic Records in collaboration with Ricky Reed's Nice Life Recording Company. This new partnership marks an exciting chapter for Emei, whose first release under the deal is the single "Night at the Opera". The track serves as the lead release from her forthcoming Night at the Opera EP, which is scheduled for release on June 12.
Ricky Reed, founder and CEO of Nice Life, shared his enthusiasm about the signing, stating that his excitement stems from Emei's relentless ambition and artistic vulnerability. He recalled the first time he saw her perform to a sold-out, energetic crowd in a San Francisco club. Reed emphasized how Emei combines a scrappy DIY spirit with a deep connection to her community of outsiders, making her a perfect fit for the Nice Life and Atlantic Records family.
Meanwhile, the Creative Artists Agency (CAA) has signed the multi-talented singer, songwriter, and actor Sara Bareilles. Bareilles boasts impressive sales figures, with over 3 million albums and 15 million singles sold in the U.S. alone. Her music has also been streamed more than 3.5 billion times worldwide, reflecting her broad appeal and sustained popularity.
In addition to her recording success, Bareilles made significant contributions to musical theater. She composed the music and lyrics for the Broadway musical Waitress and starred in the lead role both on Broadway and in the West End. Her performance as "The Baker's Wife" in Into the Woods earned her a Tony Award nomination, highlighting her versatility as a performer.
On the television front, Bareilles starred in the Emmy-nominated musical comedy series GIRLS5EVA for three seasons. She also took on executive producer responsibilities and composed original music for the Apple musical drama series Little Voice, produced by J.J. Abrams.
Bareilles is managed by Izvor Zivkovic at Split Second and John Meneilly, Will Hubbard, and Marissa Lesch at Left / Right. Her legal representation includes Michael Guido of Carroll Guido & Groffman and Nancy Rose of Schreck Rose Dapello Adams Berlin & Dunham.
In other recent signings, the Mexican-American musical duo Los Gemelos de Sinaloa have secured a management deal with Street Mob Records. The twin brothers, Juan Moisés Cárdenas and Roberto Cárdenas, are known for their modern take on corridos and collaborations with prominent artists such as Oscar Maydon, Fuerza Regida, and Gabito Ballesteros. Their single "Si Me Ven" made its first entry on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart in 2022, the same year they were finalists for Best New Artist at the Billboard Latin Music Awards.
The duo joins a growing roster at Street Mob Records that includes artists like Clave Especial, Calle 24, and Chino Pacas, signaling a promising new phase in their career trajectory.
