AceShowbiz - Kylie Cantrall, the actress, singer, and songwriter, has officially signed with Republic Records in collaboration with APG and Heroine Music.

Known primarily for her lead role as "Red" in the Disney film Descendants: The Rise of Red, Cantrall has recently focused more on her music career. Last year, she released her debut EP titled B.O.Y. through APG, which featured singles like "Boy for a Day," "Goodie Bag," "Denim," and "See U Tonight."

Cantrall is gearing up to release her first single under Republic Records, called "Carrie Bradshaw," scheduled for release this spring. The song is described as an emotional pop anthem reflecting the transition from teenage years into adulthood and self-authorship.

In a statement, Cantrall shared her excitement about the partnership with Republic Records and the upcoming single. She mentioned that the past year has brought both highs and lows, which she has channeled into her music. She described the songs as honest and personal, noting that even the heartbreak-themed tracks have an upbeat quality that can make listeners want to dance.

Wendy Goldstein, chairwoman and chief creative officer at Republic Records, expressed enthusiasm about welcoming Cantrall to the label. She highlighted Cantrall as a compelling artist with a distinct vision and praised the new music for being innovative and purposeful. Goldstein emphasized the excitement around launching the global campaign for "Carrie Bradshaw" in partnership with APG and supporting this next phase of Cantrall's career.

Following the success of Descendants: The Rise of Red, Cantrall participated in the Descendants/Zombies: Worlds Collide Tour, which reportedly sold out 40 arenas across North America, according to a press release.

Looking ahead, she is set to appear in Descendants: Wicked Wonderland, the upcoming sequel to The Rise of Red and the fifth installment in the Descendants franchise. This film is scheduled for release this summer.
