Roberta Flack, who passed away at age 88 in 2025, was recently honored alongside artists such as D’Angelo and Ozzy Osbourne during the 68th annual Grammy Awards. Her timeless contributions span genres including R&B, jazz, folk, and pop, producing iconic songs like "Killing Me Softly with His Song," "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face," "Where Is the Love" with Donny Hathaway, and "Tonight, I Celebrate My Love" with Peabo Bryson.
Notably, Flack was the first artist to win the Grammy Award for Record of the Year in consecutive years (1973 and 1974). She is also set to be inducted into the National Rhythm and Blues Hall of Fame in October 2026, cementing her enduring place in music history.
