AceShowbiz - Shaun The Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom has unveiled its latest trailer and poster, promising a delightful mix of humor and horror that fans of the series will enjoy. Created by Aardman Animation and Studiocanal, this third installment in the beloved claymation franchise offers a playful Halloween-themed adventure filled with clever movie references and plenty of pun-filled fun.
The new film follows its predecessors, Shaun The Sheep Movie (2015) and A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon (2019), as it introduces a family-friendly horror spoof. The story centers on Shaun and his flock eagerly preparing for Halloween celebrations. However, their festivities take a wild turn when a mad scientist's experiments unleash a hairy monster that threatens to disrupt the party and cause chaos across Mossy Bottom Farm.
The trailer is packed with rapid-fire gags and nods to classic horror films such as Night of the Living Dead, Dracula, Frankenstein, and Psycho. Audiences can expect "sheep thrills and some wooly good fun," as the voice cast brings the characters to life without dialogue, relying on expressive animation and sound effects.
This feature marks the directorial debut of longtime Aardman collaborators Steve Cox and Matthew Walker. They helm the project with a script co-written by Mark Burton, known for his work on Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-rabbit and A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon, alongside Giles Pilbrow, a writer for the Shaun the Sheep: Adventures from Mossy Bottom television series.
The voice ensemble includes Justin Fletcher returning as the iconic voice of Shaun and the other sheep, joined by John Sparkes and Kate Harbour, who contribute their talents to this largely non-verbal film.
GKIDS will distribute Shaun The Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom in the United States, with the movie scheduled for a nationwide theatrical release on September 18. In the United Kingdom, the film will be available through Sky U.K., while Studiocanal manages theatrical releases across multiple territories including France, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Poland, the Benelux countries, and Italy. Studiocanal also handles worldwide sales for the film.
Aardman Studios, founded by Peter Lord and David Sproxton and famous for the work of Oscar-winning animator Nick Park, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. The studio has planned a series of events to honor its rich legacy and the craft of stop-motion animation that has defined its work.
Fans and newcomers alike can look forward to the new film’s blend of humor, spooky thrills, and signature claymation charm. The trailer for Shaun The Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom is now available to watch, offering a glimpse into the mischievous adventures awaiting the flock this Halloween season.
