AceShowbiz - The woman accused of targeting Rihanna in a violent shooting in Beverly Hills appeared in court facing serious charges on March 25, 2026. Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, 35, from Orlando, Florida, entered a plea of not guilty to attempted murder and multiple felony counts linked to the incident that took place on March 8.
Authorities say Ortiz fired about 20 rounds from a white Tesla parked across the street from Rihanna's residence around 1:15 P.M. Pacific Time. The gunfire caused damage to the singer's gate, walls, and a parked recreational vehicle, with at least one bullet penetrating the home while Rihanna was inside.
Law enforcement tracked the fleeing vehicle south on Coldwater Canyon Drive and apprehended Ortiz just 30 minutes after the shooting at a Sherman Oaks shopping center. Officers recovered an assault rifle and seven shell casings from the vehicle, further linking her to the crime.
During the court hearing, Ortiz's public defender, Derek Ray Dillman, entered the not guilty plea on her behalf. Ortiz waived her right to a speedy preliminary hearing, and her attorney requested a significant reduction of her bail from $1.9 million to $70,000. The judge rejected this request, maintaining the bail at the higher amount and keeping Ortiz in custody.
The charges against Ortiz are severe and include one count of attempted murder, 10 counts of assault with a semi-automatic firearm, and three counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling. Prosecutors have characterized the attack as willful, deliberate, and premeditated according to court documents.
If convicted on all charges, Ortiz faces the possibility of spending the remainder of her life in prison without parole. Meanwhile, the motive behind the attack remains under investigation as authorities continue to gather evidence and piece together the circumstances that led to this alarming incident involving one of music’s biggest superstars.
