“So many people benefitted from what he created and I acknowledge that,” Usher continued. He described learning valuable business lessons by watching Diddy position himself as a formidable figure in the industry long before fully understanding the business world himself. Sean Diddy Combs is currently serving a 50-month federal prison sentence after being convicted on two counts related to transportation to engage in prostitution. His original sentence was handed down in October, and his release date has reportedly been adjusted to April 2028.

The 2025 trial involved testimony from 34 witnesses accusing Diddy of crimes including drug distribution, abuse, and sexual assault. However, the jury acquitted him of more severe charges such as racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking, which could have resulted in a much longer sentence.

One of the most notable moments during the trial was testimony from singer Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, who spent four days on the stand detailing alleged abuse by Diddy. Jurors also reviewed surveillance footage from 2016 showing an assault on Ventura in a hotel hallway.

Throughout the legal proceedings, Diddy's defense team acknowledged his history of domestic violence but emphasized that he was not charged with that offense in this case.
