AceShowbiz - The Japanese nine-member group Snow Man has achieved another milestone as their latest single "Odorouze!" debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 chart released on March 4.
Odorouze! serves as the theme song for the movie THE SPECIALS, which stars Daisuke Sakuma, a member of Snow Man. The track was released digitally on February 23 and immediately made an impact by topping the downloads metric with 96,042 downloads. It also ranked No. 2 for video views and No. 28 in streaming on the same chart.
This new hit will be featured in the group's upcoming 13th single release titled "BANG!! / SAVE YOUR HEART / Odorouze!," scheduled for physical release on April 29. With "Odorouze!" reaching the top spot, Snow Man now holds a total of 13 No. 1 singles on the Japan Hot 100.
Their full list of No. 1 singles on this chart includes: "KISSIN' MY LIPS," "Grandeur," "HELLO HELLO," "Secret Touch," "Brother Beat," "Orange Kiss," "Tapestry," "Dangerholic," "BREAKOUT," "SERIOUS," "CHARISMAX," "STARS," and now "Odorouze!".
Meanwhile, last week’s chart leader, M!LK’s "Bakuretsu Aishiteru," slipped to No. 2. Despite a decline in CD sales from its debut week, the song maintained strong streaming and video view figures, securing its runner-up position.
AKB48’s 67th single "Nagori Zakura" made a powerful debut at No. 3, propelled by 622,607 CD sales that topped the sales metric. Kenshi Yonezu’s "IRIS OUT" and M!LK’s "Sukisugite Metsu!" held steady at No. 4 and No. 5 respectively.
In other chart developments, the debut album by HANA made an impressive entrance with multiple tracks charting, including "ALL IN" at No. 13. A total of 12 songs from HANA’s album are within the top 100. Additionally, Motoki Omori’s "0.2mm," the lead single from his solo mini-album OITOMA, debuted at No. 12. This track was written specifically as the theme for the film 90 Meters.
The Billboard Japan Hot 100 rankings are determined by a combination of physical and digital sales, audio streams, radio airplay, video views, and karaoke data, providing a comprehensive picture of song popularity in Japan.
For the week spanning February 23 to March 1, Snow Man’s "Odorouze!" clearly dominated, proving the group’s continued strong presence in the Japanese music scene.
