AceShowbiz - HBO's The Last of Us is expanding its cast for the highly anticipated third season with the addition of Michelle Mao and Kyriana Kratter as series regulars. Both actresses will portray siblings Yara and Lev, characters introduced in the video game sequel The Last of Us Part II. The siblings belong to the Seraphites, a survivalist cult, and their storylines will be closely tied to Kaitlyn Dever's character Abby. Notably, the show maintains the video game's portrayal of Lev as a transgender boy.
Michelle Mao recently appeared as Rosamund, Sophie’s stepsister, in Season 4 of Netflix’s Bridgerton. Meanwhile, Kyriana Kratter starred alongside Jude Law in the Disney+ series Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. Their casting joins previous Season 3 additions including Patrick Wilson, Jason Ritter, and Clea DuVall. Additionally, Jorge Lendeborg Jr. will take over the role of Manny, replacing Danny Ramirez.
In other casting developments, Emmy-winning actress Judith Light is set to join the second season of Apple TV’s legal thriller Presumed Innocent. While her exact role has not been revealed, she will join a cast featuring Rachel Brosnahan, Matthew Rhys, Courtney B. Vance, and Fiona Shaw. Light’s impressive resume includes acclaimed performances in All’s Fair, Who’s the Boss?, Transparent, and Ugly Betty.
Netflix has also expanded its cast for the upcoming adaptation of the Assassin’s Creed video game series. The new recurring cast members include Sandra Guldberg-Kampp from Foundation, Youssef Kerkour of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, Mirren Mack known for Miss Austen, and Louis McCartney from Hope Street.
Meanwhile, Langston Kerman has joined the cast of Jake Johnson’s NBC comedy pilot, playing Justin Royal, a warm and protective private investigator. His character partners with Johnson’s Mickey at an agency managed by Justin’s father, Julius Royal, portrayed by Keith David.
