AceShowbiz - Honeymoon With Harry is moving forward with casting talks as Sarah Pidgeon is in discussions to join Kevin Costner and Jake Gyllenhaal in the upcoming Amazon MGM Studios film.
Pidgeon recently earned acclaim for her portrayal of Carolyn Bessette in Ryan Murphy’s FX series Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette. Her notable credits also include Sony’s I Know What You Did Last Summer, the drama The Friend directed by David Siegel, and her role as Diana in the Broadway play Stereophonic.
The film will be directed by the duo Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, who are collaborating with screenwriter Dan Fogelman. The trio previously worked together on the beloved dramedy Crazy, Stupid, Love and the Hulu series Paradise, also created by Fogelman. Amazon MGM secured the rights to this feature, which has been in development for some time, with Costner and Gyllenhaal already attached as leads.
Based on the novel by Bart Baker, Honeymoon With Harry follows the story of a rugged man who embarks on a forced trip with his fiancée’s protective and difficult father after a tragic event disrupts their wedding plans. The film’s logline describes it as an emotional dramedy set against an island honeymoon backdrop, where the two men clash initially but gradually discover an unexpected connection.
Gyllenhaal’s character takes the honeymoon with his soon-to-be father-in-law, portrayed by Costner, following the sudden death of his fiancée two days before their wedding. The producing team includes Dan Fogelman, Mike Karz, and Jennifer Salke, marking Salke’s producing debut with Amazon MGM under her Sullivan Street Productions banner.
Pidgeon is represented by Gersh and Anonymous Content as she potentially joins this compelling project alongside two established Hollywood stars.
