AceShowbiz - The woman accused of opening fire at the home of Rihanna earlier this week reportedly sent messages to her estranged husband weeks prior to the incident. Ivanna Ortiz allegedly urged her ex-husband to disavow Rihanna in an email dated January 26.
According to newly released court documents, Jed Valdez Sangalang shared the email from Ortiz that read, "I need you to renounce Rihanna and confess that I'm better than her. Let it be done. You gotta let me know so that door can be closed." This message is now part of the investigation surrounding the shooting.
Sangalang says he first learned about the shooting on Sunday after receiving numerous calls and emails, including inquiries from news organizations. He also revealed attempts to shield their minor child from the distressing news, which was complicated when another student at the child’s school disclosed the event, forcing him to explain the situation.
In light of these developments, Sangalang is petitioning the court for full custody and sole decision-making rights over their child. The move follows the traumatic incident involving Ortiz, who has been charged with attempted murder and assault for allegedly firing multiple shots at the Grammy-winning singer’s residence.
Sources confirm that Rihanna and her children were present during the shooting, while her partner, A$AP Rocky, was not home at the time. Further reports indicate that Ortiz has a history of mental health issues, having been placed on a psychiatric hold in Florida prior to this event.
The case continues to unfold as authorities investigate the motive and circumstances behind the attack on Rihanna’s home, with safety concerns for the family remaining paramount.
