AceShowbiz - Sean Diddy Combs is set to be released from prison 40 days earlier than initially scheduled. Federal Bureau of Prisons documents obtained by XXL reveal that Diddy's new release date has been advanced from June 4, 2028, to April 25, 2028. The rap mogul is currently serving his sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix, New Jersey.
Diddy was sentenced to 50 months behind bars in October after being convicted on two counts of transportation for prostitution. Importantly, he was acquitted of sex-trafficking and racketeering conspiracy charges, which could have resulted in a life sentence. Initially, his release was set for May 8, 2028, but was pushed back by 27 days in November, reportedly due to alleged rules violations while incarcerated, although this was never officially confirmed.
In November, Diddy reportedly entered a drug-abuse rehabilitation program, which sources like Page Six suggest may have contributed to the reduction of his sentence. XXL has reached out to Diddy's representatives for comment on the updated release date.
The adjusted release comes amid ongoing legal efforts by Diddy's attorneys, who filed an appeal in December contesting the severity of the original sentence. They argued for immediate release or sentence reduction, citing the acquittal on the more serious racketeering charges. Prosecutors, however, opposed the appeal in a response filed in February.
This sentence adjustment marks a notable development in Diddy's incarceration timeline, reflecting potential impacts from his rehabilitation efforts and ongoing legal proceedings. His new release date is now confirmed as April 25, 2028, shortening his time behind bars by over a month from the previously adjusted date.
