• Skip the how-to books. Trust your instincts and originality.

Taupin also conveyed the importance of originality, stating, “It’s a gift, so embrace it. Without it, you risk being dull.” His storied career has brought him numerous accolades, including the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song, a dozen Ivor Novello Awards, an Academy Award, two Golden Globes, and induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, along with the title of Commander of the British Empire.
