During the sit-down with Tony Dokoupil, Hudson intervened when the journalist inquired about how they first met. "We're not talking about this," she asserted, as the former college cheerleader's constant presence during the interview was noted by Dokoupil in a voiceover.

The interview swiftly became a hot topic, with notable personalities such as Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy and sports journalist Jemele Hill commenting on the uncomfortable encounter.

"My Sunday morning routine is always coffee and CBS Sunday Morning. It's a feel-good show. The opposite of controversial. So imagine my surprise this morning when they had the most awkward Bill Belichick interview I've ever seen. Like I was squirming in my seat," Portnoy shared via X.

Piers Morgan echoed Portnoy's sentiment, calling the interview "utterly excruciating" and suggesting that Belichick might need an intervention. Hill added a dose of irony, stating, "A 24-year-old seems to have more influence over Bill Belichick than Tom Brady. Cold game."

Their concerns were compounded by current ESPN host Peter Burns, who suggested a more dramatic scenario, "Belichick might be being held against his will. We need to save that man."

Despite the flurry of reactions, neither Belichick nor Hudson has publicly addressed the comments.
